The victim of his own anger, the child (prince), is a Minneapolis musician who grows with his band, The Revolution, escaping a disturbing home life through music. While trying to avoid the same mistakes as his dashed father (Clarence Williams III), the kid navigates the club scene and a rocky relationship with an attractive singer Apollonia (Apollonia Kotero). But another musician, Morris (Morris Day), expects to steal the child’s spotlight – and his daughter.
